APPLE MACBOOK AIR11-INCH

The Apple MacBook Air 11-inch (Mid 2013) ($999 list) is the latest iteration of Apple's ultraportable laptop. It retains all of the features that MacBook Air fans have grown to expect, though there are a few facets that are starting to seem dull and could bear a little improvement.  The biggest change is the addition of the new-gen, even-more-power-saving Intel Haswell i3,i5 or i7 processors. Apple claims a nine-hour battery life and we managed around six of movie playback. You also get faster RAM and SSD, in 128GB or 256GB varieties. In general, we are talking millisecond speed increases for most apps, but the new models do wake noticeably faster than their predecessors. They have also got AC Wi-Fi, offering up to three times faster connectivity than N.
The absence of a Retina Display is a let-down, but the 11.6-inch LED-backlit, 1366x768 resolution screen is still pretty good, and we'd say 1080p video and games look slightly smoother this time out thanks to improved, Intel HD5000 graphics. If you require a more hi-res picture, the Air supports dual display with mirroring to your telly via Apple TV, or 2560x1600 to compatible monitors.
The advantage you get from small footprints is that this notebook weighs just 1.08kg and you really can slip it into a bag with ease.
Subtle but useful changes - a new, dual mic for Skype calls for instance - mean this isn't an essential upgrade for existing Air users, but with OSX Mavericks soon to add more iCloud features, it remains the best portable laptop
One of the surprising things about the MacBook Air is how good the speakers sound. There is no addition branding to shout that one company or another has worked on the audio, but there's a surprising richness and volume that comes from them.
There is a headphone socket too on the left, alongside the MagSafte 2 power connection. There's a USB port on either side and the Thunderbolt on the right.
In addition, the latest MacBook Air is compatible with 802.11 ac, the latest Wi-Fi protocol to be sanctioned, giving you faster speeds over greater distances. The latest version of the AirPort Extreme has also been updated to be ac compatible.
The improved flash storage - a PCI Express-connected drive, aka SATA Express - helps here too, adding a noticeable snap to many tasks. The Air boots in ten seconds and wakes from sleep as soon as you open the lid.
