HTC Pro 2 :
The HTC Touch Pro2 is the latest touchscreen marvel from HTC, a company that's currently bathing in glory of a good run of fantastic handsets. It was one of the best business-class smartphones on the market. Fast-forward to today. The original HTC Touch Pro derived much of its appeal from its unique styling, and while the company has kept built quality high for the Pro2, much of the edginess we saw in the first version has melted away. The rigid, crystaline lines that gave the jet-black Pro such a unique look have given way to a softened, matte-brown back, and the almost-sharp corners now wrap around in smooth curves. It's matter of taste no doubt, but in our opinion, carrying one of these phones no longer counts as much of a fashion statement, and it could be confused with just about any other generic touchscreen phone. It runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1Professional, upgradable to Windows Mobile 6.5.
Features are SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Instant Messaging, Multimedia-MP3 player, TV, OutBluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, EDRDisplay Type, TFT resistive touchscreen, 65 colors.
As a 3G handset it's nice to see a front facing camera for two-way video calling. Not everybody makes use of this feature but if you do like to use it the camera will be welcome. The main camera is a little disappointing. It shoots at just 3.2 magepixels, has no flash, no self-portrait mirror, and few fancy shooting features. For all that it did produce fair photographs provided the lighting conditions were good. Not surprisingly indoors, lighting conditions deteriorated and so did its performance.
The style-conscious Diomand2 and now the business-centred HTC Touch Pro2 with its slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The Pro2 is considerably larger and heavier than its predecessor, but it also has a bigger and better tilting touch screen as well as much improved interface, and a new conference call facility which HTC has named 'Straight Talk'.
In addition to the new simplified calling experience, Straight Talk includes an innovative mechanical and acoustic design that features a sophisticated speakerphone experience similar to those found in corporate boardrooms. Straight Talk delivers a high-fidelity voice and sound experience enhanced by asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full duplex acoustics. When the Touch Pro2 is flipped over it automatically turns into a conference room speakerphone system.
