iPad Air :
One reason for the phenomenal success of the iPad has been Apple's ability to pack speed and versatility into a thin, light body with long battery life. And in a stroke of marketing genius, a largely similar product is now rebranded, making it easier for consumers to notice that they don't have the latest model. It doesn't do everything a laptop does, but for many common scenarios, it has replaced the laptop as its owners go-to device. That's why the company has sold 170 million iPads in just three and half years.
It plans to start selling its fifth-generation full-size model, called the iPad Air, and this one significantly extends the iPad's advantages, at the same $499 base price of its predecessor. In a feat of design and engineering, Apple has slashed the iPad's weight by 28 percent, make it 20 percent thinner and 9 percent narrower, while increasing its speed and retaining the brilliant, 9.7-inch Retina display.
The one part of the iPad Air that isn't any thinner or lighter is its price, which starts at the usual $499 for a 16GB WiFi-only model. From there, the MSRP goes as high as $929 for the most expensive configuration (that's the WiFi + Cellular model with 128 gigs of storage). As always, the Air is entering a highly competitive market just in time for the holidays. So will its strong performance and super-thin frame be enough to make you upgrade come November 1st.
Features:
Incredible Performance: The new Apple- designed A7 chip brings 64-bit desktop-class architecture to iPad. The means up to twice the CPU speed and graphics performance for everything you do. And still up to 10 hours of battery life to study, play, build, and create whatever you want, all you want.
Software : The Air comes with the latest version of iOS 7.0.3, which is available for every device capable of running the new love-it-or-hate-it operating system.
Wi-Fi and 4G : Apple has upgraded the wireless inside the iPad Air, with MIMO technology now providing faster and more reliable Wi-Fi. It still uses the slightly older 802.11n technology, though rather than the new, faster 802.11ac standard.
A bigger improvement comes on the Wi-Fi + Cellular version, which now works on all 4G networks in the UK (the iPad 4 wouldn't work with any 4G LTE networks).
Camera : The iPad Air features a 5-megapixel rear camera that can capture video in 1080p. The device's front 1.2-megapixel shooter can capture video in 720p.
