Samsung reveals Galaxy S4 'Mini'

Global technology giant, Samsung Electronics has unveiled Galaxy S4 Mini smartphone in New York, the South Korean technology giant is already feather nest for its next big product launch event in London on June 20.

By comparison, the original S4, Which hit the 10 million-sale mark last week to become Samsung's fastest selling smartphone, has a bigger 5-inch full high-definition screen and a 13-mega pixel camera.

The launch comes ahead of the extensively speculated low-priced iPhone later this year and as Samsung, the World's top smartphone maker, looks to expand its lead with products spanning both the high and cheap-and-cheerful ends of the market.

Samsung is also expected to reveal more varieties of the S4 in the upcoming mobile event in London next month including a model with optical camera zoom functionality as well as a phone with water-proof features.

Earlier this month, the company said it has shipped more than 10 million units of the S4 since the phone hit market in late April, beat sales of previous Galaxy models.

9 key features to know about Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini:

- 4.3 -inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 

  960x54op resolution and 256ppi pixel density.

- Galaxy S4 mini  operating system is Android
  4.2(Jelly Bean) layered with TouchWiz user
  interface. Dual Processor is 1.7GHz with 1.5GB
  RAM.

- On-board storage is 8GB, wherein approximately 

  5GB would be accessible to users. It also supports 

  microSD cards and expandable up to 64GB.

- Samsung Galaxy S4 mini will roll out in two models, One the supports 4G Internet and an other is 

  compatible with 3G networks. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Infrared and microUSB 2.0. The
  4G compatible model comes with NFC support.

- An 8MP Camera is strapped to the back of Galaxy S4 mini, Whereas the 1.9MP camera is placed 

  front. Some of the camera features included in the phone by Samsung are Sound & Shot, Best 

  Photo, Best Face, Beauty Face, High Dynamic Range, Panorama, Sports and Continuous Shot.

- Galaxy S4 mini has 1,900mAh battery and features are Knox, the company's proprietary 

   security system.

- Dimensions & Weight are 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.94 mm. The single variant of the phone weight is 
  107gram, while the dual-Sim iteration weight is 108gram.

- Samsung has included some of the Proprietary features in the new Galaxy S4 mini are 

  S Travel, S Voice, S Health, Adapt Display, Adapt Sound and Home Sync etc. Apart from these
  features, the phone also comes with Samsung Link, Safety Assistance, Screen Mirroring, Smart
  Switch and S Translator.

- Market estimates that it will be priced at approximately $350. Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is expected 

  to be available in both the single and dual-SIM variants. Users can simultaneously listen to the 

  same music and play the games together with friends using Group Play feature.
